How Pleasant for the Peasants: A Ringnecked Pheasant

Whooee! Well friends an' foes, Ma an' I was out in the country on a errand this mornin' an' Ma spotted this here ringneck. She put on the brakes an' backed up an' rolled down the window an' I snapped this here pitcher.

  2. Good eatin', too. Quick little suckers, tho', and sharp-eyed. Unless they know you don't have a hunting license, of course - then they just stroll on by to taunt you.

  3. Whooee! Thankee fer droppin' by, gals. It's a male, Chrystal. Unlike humans, the male birds is usually the prettier ones. The female pheasant's more plain and camouflaged. Better fer nestin' an' stayin' outta sight, I reckon.

    Yeah, Jennifer, I hear-tell they serve it under glass in fancy restaurants. Probbly a lot tastier than them pablum-fed chickens we get down at the supermarket.
